I will operate 3D2YA from Yangeta Island, Yasawa group, Fiji. IOTA OC-156.
Schedule will be between 2015/9/23 and 9/28.

KX3/KXPA100 at home

I often use KX3/KXPA100 with Logger32/NaP3. NaP3 works very well as panadapter. I do not need expensive PX3 !!!

KX3/KXPA100 for DX Vacation

KX3/KXPA100 combo is my main Transceiver for DX Vacation.

There are 2 ways to connect KX3 and KXPA100.

1) Using Elecraft optional adapter cables
a. DC power to each.
b. KX3 RF out to KXPA100 RF in
c. PC USB port or serial port to KXPA100 RS232(PC)
d. KXPA100 Control to KX3 ACC1 and ACC2 with optional adaper cable.

It works just like one box transceiver.
However there is a serious problem when using external logging program, Logger32 in my case.
You must always close com port at Logger32 before you turn KX3/KXPA100 ON, otherwise
KXPA100 does not start up properly. There have been no significant improvement yet.


2) Simple connections.
a. DC power to each.
b. KX3 RF out to KXPA100 RF in
c. KX3 ACC2 to KXPA100 PA Key

Each works independently. However there is no problem using external logging problem.
Power set in KX3 manually, Tune with low poer to chnage band before transmitting with full power. I get around 100W with 5W output from KX3.

New toy

This is new toy, Elecraft P3 Panadapter.
I use P3 with K3, of course. I do not expect to bring it for DX Vacation though.
It must be very useful at home station.

Licence for P29VNX arrived

I received a copy of P29VNX licence today. It is valid thru January 2014.
I have no fixed plan yet to operate P29VNX. It will be in early summer or autumn this year.

Waiting for P29 License

I sent application form and license fee (1 year license) to NICTA last December. In January they received it.  They asked me some additional informations about QRV location and started to prepare my license.

I think license will be issued in a few weeks or so. If possible I will QRV from P29 in summer season.

License for 3D2YA arrived

I received 3D2YA renewal license today.
It is valid from 2012/8 to 2017/2.  It is possible now to get max 5 years license in Fiji.

I have no plan yet to operate 3D2YA this year.

Buro QSL from GlobalQSL

GlobalQSL says that.....

There were possibility that some QSL package for each Buro have not departed from Israel due to post service problem during 2011.

If you have not received my QSL for my DX vacation after 1.5 - 2 years and you really need these QSL then please let me know.  OQRS Direct/Buro are now available for ALL my DX pedition.

I will do my best to re-send QSL on your request.

HL-100BDX

Tested THP HL-100BDX during CQWW_CW contest on 28MHz.
This is max QSO rate by N1MM Logger. HL-100BDX worked very hard without problem.
I think this is much better than Juma PA-100D.

Small amp for KX3

This is new HL-100BDX from Tokyo Hy-Power.

It makes good 100w output with about 3w input on all HF Bands. I will try to make more hard test during contest this week end.

I used Juma PA-100D during JA1NLX/VK4 QRV last October. I was very much disappointed that max power was limited under 30-50w on 24/28MHz due to high temperature.
